Over the years, a lot of companies invested in IBM mainframe (zSeries) or midrange (iSeries) systems. The mainframe architecture is not compatible with nowadays standards and architectures. Microsoft asked CODit to animate 2 sessions during the latest Business Integration Roadshow that took place on 01/12/2009 in Paris.

Wilrijk, Antwerp Belgium, 17/11/2009 - CODit interfaces SABIC, The largest petrochemicals centre in the World, its ERP platform with the A-SIS Warehouse Management Software (WMS)!

With its 140.000 m2 of warehouse and its 5 production lines, Saudi Kayan’s petrochemical centre, where construction work began in 2009 in Saudi Arabia, will be the largest in the World.
CODit, the SOA & BPM specialist, has been chosen to enable the communication between the SABIC ERP platform with the a-SIS warehouse management software.
Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Company will build the largest petrochemical production centre in the World in Al-Jubail in Saudi Arabia in 2009. Over 4 million tonnes of petrochemical and chemical (ethylene, propylene, polypropylene, etc.) products for the automobile, textiles and pharmaceutical industries etc. will be developed on site, some of them for the first time in the country (polycarbonate, aminoethanol, aminomethyls, dimethylformamide …).

Assisted by Argon Consulting, the organisation consulting firm, for the implementation process, Saudi Kayan has chosen Microsoft BizTalk Server in combination with the a-SIS LM7® to drive the new logistics centre which will be able to store 175 000 tonnes of products. CODit will interface the LM7® WMS with the production management system, SAP, a site process control system and weighing bridges (trailer taring).
To guarantee traceability and real time « paper free » operation management, the platform will be equipped with RFID technology.

Wilrijk, Antwerp Belgium, 03/11/2009 - HIS Consolidation reduces operational and maintenance costs at Spanish major financial institution

CODit redesigned and reconfigured the whole Host Integration server architecture at this financial institution. CODit consolidated 40 Host integration servers to 4 Host integration servers providing access to mainframe resources for all the branch offices.
These Host Integration servers are used by the core, mission critical applications of the financial institution. Going from 40 to 4 servers offers a huge cut in the maintenance and operational costs of this environment. During this consolidation CODit also upgraded the protocol used to communicate with the mainframe. The old setup used the DLC protocol, which is upgraded to the all 'IP' IP-DLC protocol. The Host Integration servers are also upgraded from HIS 2000 to the newest version of Host Integration server: HIS 2009.
The new Host Integration environment is a 'high available' setup spread across multiple datacenters. The new environment supports up to 20000 simultaneous connections!
As a second part of the project, CODit provided the customers platform team with a detailed upgrade procedure for all branch offices (1000+). These branch offices are upgraded from HIS 2000 to HIS 2006.
This project was realized in close collaboration with Microsoft Spain.

Peter Borremans, CODit Integration architect, wrote a detailed document on how to use certificates to enable message security on a BizTalk WCF receive location. Redmond, WA, USA 20/04/2009 - Microsoft invites CODit to the Platform Adoption Center to extend the CODit implementation framework to WCF 4.0

The CSD (Connected Systems Division) product team invites CODit to the Platform Adoption Center in Redmond, WA. CODit will work together with Microsoft product members on the next release of the CODit implementation framework, that will also run on WCF 4.0. The existing CODit BizTalk implementation framework is a framework that contains rock-solid production proven components, running at various customers in the heart of their integration systems. CODit feels that making these patterns in service-only (WCF) scenarios will add a lot of value to the existing framework. During a one-week workshop, CODit team members will work closely together on the prototyping and the architecting of the next framework version.

CODit works together with Microsoft Oslo Server* Product Team to assure continuity of our SOA Implementation

Redmond US, 24/04/2008 - Microsoft announces BizTalk Server 2006 R3

On April 23th 2008, Microsoft publically announced the plans for releasing the next version of BizTalk Server.
This version will be named BizTalk Server 2006 R3 and can be expected 1st half of next calendar year. The biggest investments will be done on providing compatibility for the 2008 versions of SQL Server, Windows Server and Visual Studio .Net.

Besides that, we can expect more investments on :
- New web service registry capabilities with support for UDDI (Universal Description Discovery and Integration) version 3.0
- New and enhanced adapters for service enablement
- BizTalk RFID Mobile
- Enhanced interoperability and connectivity support for industry protocols

CODit will follow up and provide feedback on this new version and we are looking to participate again in the Technology Adoption Program, as we did with all previous versions.
