Group Financial Controller

Help ensure the business continuity of Codit

Over the past few years Codit has grown from an organization with 6 mio € revenue and presence in 3 countries (Belgium (HQ), France and Portugal), to an organization with a revenue of about 15 mio € and a presence in 7 different countries European countries (Belgium (HQ), France, Portugal, Switzerland, UK, The Netherlands, Malta). This evolution of our organization has been a result of strong organic growth and a merger.

The current size of the Codit business requires us to further invest in the operational and financial management. The Group Financial controller will help the CEO in managing financial reporting and professionalize the financial processes..

In FY2016 Codit substantially invested in the migration from accountancy system and the creation of a Codit Finance & Accounting manual with Financial Reporting. This new way of working has been implemented in Belgium and needs to be rolled-out/fine-tuned in all other Codit countries. 

Job description

  • Oversee and control all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL (and Counsel, Cost Accounting), WIP & Differed Revenue (Revenue Recognition).
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the yearly budget. Monitor and Review monthly results and implement monthly variance reporting as compared to budget. Execute the required financial forecasting.
  • Prepare, publish and oversee timely monthly financial statements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
  • Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that accounts receivables are collected promptly.
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
  • Support month-end, quarterly-end and year-end close process.
  • Ensure quality control over financial personnel, transactions and financial reporting.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. Own, enforce and update the Codit Finance & Accounting Manual.
  • Being the liaison between the CFO, the local country managers (operations) and the different accounting partners in the different Codit countries.
  • Prepare all supporting information for the annual audit with the approved external auditor.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures as required to ensure that personnel and financial information is secure.
  • Assist the CEO/CFO with financial reporting as required at Board meetings and the Annual General Meetings and provide advice to support the decision making process.
  • Contributing to decisions regarding financial and treasury strategy.
  • Provide for a system of management cost reports.
  • Manage the Transfer Pricing policy within the Codit Group.

About you: your profile

  • Proven working experience as a Financial controller in an international environment
  • 8+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
  • Deep knowledge of Accounting systems (& Bright Analytics)
  • Advanced degree in Accounting
  • Hands on Experience in Accounting
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with creating financial statements
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/quarterly-end and year-end close process
  • Fluent in English and Dutch. Knowledge of the French language is a plus
