What You’ll Do
The HR Generalist will provide end-to-end HR support for employees and managers in the Portugal office. This role ensures compliance with Portuguese labor law, manages HR administration, supports managers, responds to employee questions, drives engagement initiatives, and delivers core HR processes including recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, payroll coordination, performance management, and learning & development.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Compliance

Ensure compliance with Portuguese labor law, GDPR, and statutory HR policies (e.g., health & safety, equality-related requirements, including equality plans where applicable)
Payroll Management
-
Liaise with the external payroll provider to support salary processing, taxation, social security contributions, and reporting
HR Administration
-
Maintain accurate employee records and documentation
-
Manage contracts, benefits, and employee lifecycle documentation
Employee Relations
-
Act as the first point of contact for employee HR queries

Advise managers on HR policies and support employee relations topics, including grievances
Recruitment & Onboarding

Manage job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and onboarding processes

Support offboarding processes and ensure a smooth employee lifecycle experience
Performance Management

Support annual performance review cycles, goal setting, and development plans

Follow up on low performance, high potential development, and long-term absences
Learning & Development
-
Ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements

Coordinate learning and development initiatives
HR Projects

Implement HR initiatives aligned with business strategy

Participate in global HR projects and contribute to continuous improvement
Engagement & Retention

Support employee listening initiatives, including participation in Group engagement surveys

Develop and implement engagement and retention action plans
Change Management

Contribute to defining and delivering key change management activities in a growing environment
About You
Education & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
-
3–5 years of HR Generalist experience (international environment is a plus)
-
Experience in IT recruitment and selection
Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of Portuguese labor law and HR compliance requirements

Meticulous and structured in HR administration and reporting

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and work independently

Proficiency with HRIS tools and Microsoft Office

Fluent in Portuguese and English
