What are cookies?

Who installs these cookies?

• First-party cookies are installed and managed by Codit. They are specific to the Codit website that is visited.
• Third-party cookies are installed and managed by a third party and carry the domain from this third party. They are installed during your visit to or use of the Codit website. They ensure that your visit to the Codit website results in certain information being sent to third parties (e.g. metrics on the use of the website that interests third parties for advertising purposes).

How long do cookies exist?

• Temporary cookies (or “session cookies”) are temporarily stored in your browser or application. As soon as you close your browser or application, these cookies are automatically deleted.
• Permanent cookies (or “persistent cookies”) remain on your computer or mobile device, even after you close the browser or application. They remain on your device until their expiration date is reached, a new version of the cookie is installed, or you delete them manually.

Codit has different kind of cookies installed on its website for the different purposes. Each of the available cookies on this website are explained below.

Essential cookies

Some cookies are essential (i.e. “necessary” or “functional”) for the functioning of the website, for optimising the user experience and are automatically active (e.g. session ID, language choices,…). You can’t disable these cookies. These kinds of cookies result in remembering the choices you made during a previous visit and facilitate a personal user experience.

Performance and analytical cookies

Some cookies gather information on the way this website is used to optimise the website, enlarge the ease-of-use and tailoring the website to the needs of visitors (e.g. by quantifying visits to the site, determining whether there are performance issues or bottlenecks, etc.). Codit’s first party analytical cookies make it possible to analyse traffic on the Codit website. These cookies are purely statistical.

Published by third party services

Some cookies are necessary to access certain content and are provided by third party partners. without these cookies some content like video, maps, social media feeds or sounds can be blocked. We advise you to consult the privacy- and cookie-notice of these external providers, since they do not fall under the responsibility of Codit. Examples of such functionalities: “Allow you to play specific content like videos, sounds hosted on third party sites”, “Authorizes third parties to provide tools for sharing content on social networks”.

Targeted advertisements

These cookies are used in order to allow Codit to show you advertisements that are relevant to your interests, in relation both to the company’s own products and services on non-Codit websites and social media. If you consent to the use of these cookies and you are a Codit customer, your customer details will be used (e.g. address, age, your interests, order history, etc.) unless you have objected to the use of your details for direct marketing advertisers on both Codit and non-Codit websites.

They also allow Codit and third parties to show you relevant ads related to your interest for third-party advertisers on Codit and non-Codit websites. If you consent to the use of these cookies and you are a Codit customer, your customer details will be used (e.g. address, age, your interests, order history, etc.) provided that you have previously consented to the use of your details for the purposes of personalised advertisements. Examples of functionalities that are permitted: “Providing targeting advertisements on non-Codit websites and social media based upon the products you have browsed while visiting our website” “Allowing third parties to provide you with targeted advertisements on both Codit and non-Codit websites”, “Excluding you from our digital campaigns because you have already purchased the product.”

Social media cookies

These cookies ensure optimal interaction with social media such as YouTube, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, … e.g. to enable certain features on our websites and apps enable such as the ‘X button, LinkedIn ‘Share’ button, playing of a video on YouTube, etc.

These cookies do not give us access to your social media accounts or the data you store within them. The use or interaction with social media buttons or features is subject to the own rules of the social media channel. Codit has no influence over the social media channel regarding the collection of your personal data (e.g. your IP address) and information about your surfing behaviour for purposes specific to these third parties (direct marketing, analytical studies or market research, user profile building, …). We recommend that you check the terms of use and privacy notice of relevant social media network to understand how the network handles your personal data.

For the use of social media cookies, we ask for your prior consent. You can therefore refuse to have these cookies placed on your device by setting your cookie preferences.

What is the impact of your cookie preference?

If you select a preference on the codit.eu website domain, then this preference applies to all websites with “codit.eu” in the address, as well as to the online advertisement network managed by Codit. If you use multiple browsers (e.g. Microsoft Edge, Safari, Chrome, …), then you must select a preference for each browser separately.

In case you decide to withdraw your cookie consent for any reason, your choice will be taken into account on our Codit site but unfortunately, we cannot spread this information to third parties such as Google, Salesloft… We recommend that you delete your cookies from your browser to make sure those 3^rd parties can’t continue to track you outside of the Codit environment.

Website settings

Through the cookie manager you can change your cookie settings for the Codit website. This can be found in the website footer.

Data transfers

When Codit carries out the activities described above, it shares your personal data with subcontractors and partners. They may process personal data in countries where data protection may not offer an essentially equivalent level of data protection as the EU does, but we make sure that they put appropriate safeguards in place before transferring your personal data.

Changes to this policy

This Cookie notice may be amended from time to time. This will be in accordance with the GDPR and other privacy-related regulations and laws. If Codit changes the content of this cookie notice, Codit will update the date and version number of the ‘last update’ of this Cookie notice. You will be informed of these changes appropriately.
