2020 may have been an unusual year for the colleagues at Codit Belgium, but one thing that didn’t change in the past year is that Codit Belgium is a great place to work, and this has now been officially recognized with Codit Belgium being awarded the Great Place to Work Certificate – for the fourth year in a row!

Great Place to Work Belgium explores the level of trust, pride, and happiness within organizations by having employees complete an extensive survey. The results of this survey are then analyzed and only organizations that achieve top scores receive the Great Place to Work title.
We thought we’d go ask one of our colleagues, Perrine De Brabant, why she thinks Codit Belgium is a Great Place to Work.
Here at Codit, we believe in matching our colleagues to jobs that align with their interests in technology. Perrine specializes in IoT and AI, so after graduation she applied for a job at Codit that matched her interests “I work on IoT-related projects because they are fun and challenging. IoT goes hand in hand with AI, and it’s fun to be able to combine the two,” said Perrine “In IoT, I learn new things every day. Because they are hands-on projects, so you see what the results are of your work. It’s a satisfaction to see where my work is going.”
One of the biggest things that Codit Belgium is known for is the sense of fun and community. “We have a lot of fun events that our Codit Fun Team is responsible for, they’re a lot of fun to go to and just get to know the colleagues a bit better,” said Perrine. Fun events in the past have included bowling, Christmas Market, laser tag, and even a virtual escape room during Covid. The fun team ensured everyone was kept in good spirits by sending a huge box of American candies to each colleague to enjoy.
Our colleagues are also a friendly bunch, who make each person feel welcome in the office, no matter how long they have been with the organization. “It is just a very good workspace,” said Perrine “Everyone is friendly to each other and if you have a problem you can ask anyone a question, and they will help. It’s a nice atmosphere to work in and lots to learn.”
Learning doesn’t stop just at the job, everyone is offered a generous training budget, which they have put to good use in 2020 during lockdowns – with 40+ Microsoft certifications achieved in one year – quite a feat!
Achieving the Great Place to Work certification means that Codit Belgium receives confirmation that the team is happy and what they’re doing works. Of course, there are always points that can be improved, but this means that together we can work to make Codit Belgium an even Greater Place to Work!
