all Life at codit

IT's All About Family

For over 19 years , Codit has been writing its own legacy in digital transformation. And what's made us so successful in positioning companies for the future is our key insight that to determine where to go next, you must first understand from where you started .

This summer, some Codit’ers had the chance to take their own look into history. No plutonium-powered DeLoreans or wild-haired scientists required (sorry, McFly, we didn't say Back to the Future), the Codit Netherlands team rocketed into the past for a Family Day at the Holland Open Air Museum.

#AllTogether Now

From barbecues with friends to beach vacations with family, it’s hard to imagine this sunny season without thinking of heartwarming moments with those we love. At Codit, we know just how much those moments mean, and how important it is to make time for creating memories anytime of the year.

Helping to frame our company’s focus on the bigger picture is one of our core values, #AllTogether. We believe everybody’s contribution is valued and necessary to reach our goal, and we do this as a team! But our squad is much bigger than the just people with whom we work. We value not only our team members in the office but also their most valuable players at home. That’s why Codit invests in ways to help them share more time together and thrive in their everyday lives, including our emphasis on work-life balance, strong family-friendly policy, and flexible work hours. Family Days are another way we try to ensure that the people that matter to us can spend some special time with those that matter to them.

History, Their Story

The Holland Open Air Museum (Openluchtmuseum) in Arnhem, Netherlands brings Dutch heritage to life in a way that visitors can understand and appreciate. Through authentic buildings, enlightening expositions, and inspiring true stories, the past is presented exactly as it would have been lived during each period of history – from two centuries ago up to recent days. The museum builds this one-of-a-kind experience based on the belief that those who delve into their past will get to know themselves better.

Ready for a day full of lighthearted learning and hands-on history, the Codit Netherlands team set out with their partners and children on a historic tram for some discoveries of their own.

The clan of Codit’ers started the day with some tasty coffee and pie before breaking off into smaller groups for their guided tour.

Their private guides escorted them into days gone by, immersing them rich narratives of the years after the Second World War, from the 1950s through the 1970s. Visitors learned first-hand through historically accurate exhibits and realistic reenactors, including the Green Cross healthcare center, which played a huge role in combating epidemic diseases during this time period, and the Fortuyn scaffolding mill where Second World War evacuees took shelter during air strikes.

After lunch, the families enjoyed some refreshments at the brewery.

Although their day in history came to an end, this was just one of many memories yet to come in their own journey together and another page of the Codit story they’re helping us write.
