The training made us comfortable with BizTalk Server and confirmed that we would be successful with it.

Igor Luzhansky, Project Portfolio Manager, DTEK

DTEK is the largest privately-owned vertically-integrated energy company in Ukraine, with efficient enterprises that mine and prepare coal as well as operate on electrical power generation and supply markets. The Company is the energy division of System Capital Management (SCM), one of Ukraine’s leading financial and industrial groups.

Ukrainian energy company DTEK is growing rapidly, in part through acquisitions. It needed an equally rapid way to integrate the IT systems of those acquisitions, which is why the company adopted Microsoft BizTalk Server 2013. After nine months of production use, DTEK says the Microsoft integration solution supports its growth strategy, helps with process compliance, and boosts productivity by 50 percent in a key process.

To help ensure the success of the BizTalk Server solution, DTEK turned to Codit. Codit guided DTEK through a one-month proof of concept using BizTalk Server. The trial included demonstrations of master data management, complex event processing, and application integration. Codit also provided a week-long training course in which DTEK developers learned to apply their existing development skills to the new solution.

Codit also helped in defining the infrastructure and availability needs and provided an architecture design session. Sam Vanhoutte, CTO of Codit says: “During the scenarios and architecture discussions, we saw a need for integration and immediately knew that BizTalk Server would be a perfect fit for DTEK. We invited them to join us at the Microsoft BizTalk Summit in Seattle in 2013. This two-day event helped them to understand the integration strategy and roadmap of the Microsoft technology . It helped DTEK to evaluate its options.”
